Playa Palo Seco is just beginning to be noticed by tourists on Tropical Holiday who stay at beach vacation homes for rent.  There may be few other people on the wide private sandy beach.Exceptional sunrises and sunsets over the ocean on this south-facing island are truly unique and magnificent.
Palo Seco has a very strict  Master Plan so you wont see there  a crowded beach with tourists becasue is not allowed to build high rises or houses close together, the minimum land size to build a house is 16.140 square feet.

Because of it’s proximity and easy access to the Capital, San Jose, and its beautiful natural splendor many tourists and home buyers find this area to be the most attractive in all of Costa Rica. With year round lush, green tropical foliage, towering mountain ranges, jungle and rain forests, and beautiful clean beaches, the Mid –Pacific region exemplifies the proliferation of natural beauty that Costa Rica is all about.

In addition, there is a new highway under construction, it is  a modern toll road, will be completed at April 2010 and will cut about 1 hour off the current drive time of 2.5 hours from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose to Palo Seco beach.
This combined with a network of well paved roads makes for easy traveling throughout the region.
The town of Parrita, which houses the local Municipal offices,  is located on the Costanera (coastal highway). The town itself is a quaint old farming town that is becoming more modernized as the local outskirts continue to develop and grow.

In Parrita there are 2 chain supermarkets, 2 national banks, several hardware stores, numerous small restaurants, several churches, hotels, clothing stores, attorneys, doctors and dentists’ offices, 3 chain electronics/furniture stores, 4 pharmacies, a bus station and a health clinic, schools – among many other businesses.
The townspeople are warm and  friendly and openly welcome non-Costaricans. Parrita truly has a small town atmosphere that is very satisfying.
There are endless tourist related activities to be enjoyed in the immediate area.
