What once was a sleepy surfing village of Jaco is now waking up and coming alive and is now known as a party town. Now with the new state of the art highway Autopistas del Sol has opened up which shortens the drive to an hour from San Jose to Jaco, the village is full of life. Along the coastline it almost seems like Acapulco lined with tall attractive modern condos with breathtaking ocean views.
Daily activities include surfing, canopy tours, sunbathing, shopping or having lunch at one of the local delicious restaurant serving the freshest tuna and seafood. At night, there are great bars and nightclubs to go to either beach side or in town.
Prices are very competitive for Jaco real estate and most buyers for properties in Jaco are looking at condominiums. There are ocean front condos with some very nice choices with high end finishes. All are built to the best codes and have wonderful balconies to view the daily sunset show. However, beach front titled land can go for as much as $1000 per square meter.
The luxurious high end Los Suenos resort which is located about 25 minutes from Jaco is partly responsible for the recent boom in Jaco real estate. It was the first modern marina in Costa Rica for fishing and yachting, and the first up scale resort that targeted foreigners.
Several high end hotel chains have also entered the Jaco real estate frenzy, including the Ramada, Sonesta and Saint Regis.
This climate zone also is home to the lovely and very special Scarlet Macaw which is easily sighted, even sometimes sighting up to 7 pairs. The mate for life and travel in pairs, it is wonderful to see their majestic flight over the green hillsides of Jaco, singing as they fly by.
This zone is rich for bird watching spotting toucans, eagles and other birds of prey. With the close proximity to San Jose and to other locations of Costa Rica, buying Jaco real estate is a very good investment.
